Camping expectations

I have already been camping with Stay True, so I pretty much know what to expect. What I'm looking forward to the most is getting to know the next generation of Stay True a little better. Hopefully camping with them will bring us closer together. I also missed camping like we did last year. Last year's camping trip was four of the best days of my life. If Dwayne, Jonathan, Ana, Kelsey, Nesha, and Rockelle have even half the fun I had, they're in for the time of their lives.Read more

I really am looking forward to is the food. That sounds fat but last year the food was awesome. I also look forward to just see how everybody who didn't go camping  before react to the wilderness. I'm not so much looking for to sleeping in a text cause my back hurt last time when I woke up. I like the experience of going camping last time, so I hope its as fun.Read more

A true toy story

Today, Stay True Philadelphia went on a journey to Cradles to Crayons (which is a non-profit organization that helps kids). As we arrived there we were instructed to go through our usual procedure. Getting our name tags made and being told our position our group was lead by Cradles to Crayons worker Matt and Stay True leader Phillip. Our job for today was to look through donated toys of high quality and sort through them placing them in their correctly labeled boxes. After, a couple hours of work Stay True was nearing the…Read more

Hard Work Does Pay Off

We finally finished the mural!! It was very stressful for me, because of moving the scaffolding. Oh,  how I hate scaffolding. Overall it was a great experience & opportunite to put up the mural. So last week was the craziest week ever. I'm still kind of tired from all this work. In the end hard work does pay off. It felt like I haven't slept in forever. Now that we have more space in the office we don't know what to do with it. I like the idea of the chalk wall, so…Read more

A great day with Stay True

Today with Stay True it was a nice relaxing day. Just as any other day we came together to help the community. As we were wondering what we were going to do today, our awesome advisor (Phil) came in and told us what we were doing. He said we were going to go to Cradles to Crayons, which is a non profit organization that helps kids and families who are in need. Things that we were doing were organizing toys in certain groups in which they would be given to other…Read more

Me ,Them , Us ….! ^.^

 My month and a half with Stay-True ! So much to even talk about, I don't even know where to start! I guess I'll start with the fact that Stay True gets better and better every year I return. Every year the students are more unique in their own way too ! All the students this year actually look forward to doing the work that we do. They actually don't complain. In my eyes what I see are future leaders who don't even notice that they are yet. So far in the…Read more

One Cool Day

Today Stay True went to Philabundance on a "cool day". The day started with everyone meeting as usual and discussing our plans for the day ahead of us.We were informed that we were going to do a little hard work as power washing a Rite Aid wall. This was in prep for putting up the mural, (a project that Stay True has been working on for about 4 years that would display on a Rite Aid for the community). Soon After, we arrived at Rite Aid we had set up our equipment and…Read more
