By: Autumn Hicks

One thing I would like to change about my community is the drug trafficing. I’ve always wanted to get rid of that. It really bothers me how people can sell drugs. It bothers me even more how people can buy it. Before it didn’t bother me as much. Something that made me change my mind was, a drug house was beginning to emerge right next to mine. I’ve seen people crawling through windows to get in when they barred up the door. I’ve seen drug addicts buying their dugs right off that porch. That didn’t get me to my boiling point though. I just figured that kind of stuff just happened here. The thing that got me really wanting to change this was, I saw them selling in the baby part of the park. My little brother picked up a little baggy that wasn’t even empty. He could have put it in his mouth. He found it under the slide. That’s what made me want to do something about this. Before, as a 13 year old, I thought that we were very much powerless. But, with this program I can probably help with this problem. Help to get rid of it. The way I would make a difference with this I would need help from my uncle and dad. Both of them used to be on drugs. My Uncle Clarence was on drugs from the time he was 17 years old to he was 32 years old. He now has a very successful life. He owns his own church and owns three houses. My dad owns his own business now. With their help and their story, I can tell kids the dangers of drugs and help those adults who already use.

treat a homeless person?. well the way i think people treat homeless people is the way they treat animals if they cant do nothing for them then they don’t want nothing to do with them and if it’s not them they don’t really care. the way i feel about homeless people is that there just people trying to make it through the recession and need a hand doing it.
